Review: VCI AG EHS 2023
Yesterday we were guests at the VCI together with FUCHS to present our HELACLOUD SDS project – the software for AI-based recording and further processing of supplier safety data sheets and integrated transfer to the SAP system.
The agenda of the hybrid event was tightly packed, including presentations by Ralph Coenning and Wolfgang Bock from SAP on innovations for SAP S/4HANA EHS and Product Compliance, presentation of various partner solutions and a report by Dr Wiebe on the introduction of S/4 HANA Product Compliance at Bayer AG.
In particular, the hands-on report and the question of the “right time” to migrate to SAP S/4HANA Product Compliance led to a lively discussion. What does the scenario for a “good” migration look like? Rather do a “Big bang” or “side-by-side” scenario? Or start with first with a migration to S/4HANA with Product Compliance still on “Classic”? How can the SAP roadmap (full scope S/4HANA Product Compliance probably 2027, no more mainstream maintenance for PC “Classic” in 2031) and the company’s own planning be harmonised, etc.?
These topics are pressing for many companies, so will be back on the agenda for the next VCI conference of the EHS IT systems working group in April 2024! In view of the advanced time, the planned practical report by Tatjana Spahl and myself on the introduction of HELACLOUD SDS at FUCHS was also postponed to April.
